The Nikon P6000 is the most full-featured model in Nikon's range of Coolpix compact digital cameras.

The megapixel count is an impressive 13.5 and the camera has a new wide-angle, 4x, 28-112mm zoom lens. The LCD screen is 2.7 inches and the ISO range has been extended to 6400

The Nikon Coolpix P6000 is thicker and heavier than the average slim-line, snapshot camera, but it's still remarkably diminutive given the 4x optical zoom lens and chunky DSLR-like handgrip. It just about fits in your palm and is pocketable! It offers a practical and realistic alternative to lugging around either a 'super zoom' bridge camera or an actual DSLR.

The camera offers an extensive range of controls over all its features, among which two are unique, an ethernet connection and a built-in GPS receiver which allows "geotagging" of photographs. It is a matter personal opinion how valuable tou rate this feature. Of definite value is the range of add-on devices which can be bought for this camera. Among these are various lens accessories, which fit via the threaded lens tube, and a remote shutter release. Equally important is that the control of the camera can be altered from fully automatic, where the user has almost no input other than pressing the shutter release, through a range of settings which allow a significant degree of control. Two preset modes are included where the user can select, and save, their preferred settings, to be recalled when required. There are also 15 pre-defined shooting modes which are available for immediate selection. There is also the usual video feature, although not in HD mode.

The huge range of features offerred by the P600O would take pages to discuss and can easily be accessed on the Internet. An independent review is cited below, but there are many others available which are easily found by any Web search.

This example is a new model which has been used for display purposes, hence the box has been opened. However, all components of the camera are supplied in new condition.
